Thor and Loki are back to liven the box office in the country. I am predicting
Thor: The Dark World to gross around 85-95 million. The first movie opened to a fine 59 million and end well at 174 million. Thanks to
The Avengers, Thor had a strong exposure (
The Avengers is currently the country's 2nd highest grossing movie of all time). The sequel can gross big because of that exposure (For Example: Iron Man 3 is the PH highest grossing movie). But, that's unfair. The first two Iron Man movies grossed big in the country which opened before The Avengers. Still, exposure from the Avengers will help Thor to gross well. 3D will also help Thor to gross big (the first one is also in 3D). Marketing for the movie was also good (TV Trailers, etc.) and competition wouldn't be that big (She's The One is on it's 3rd Week and Thor is shown in almost all theaters in the country). All of that factors gave Thor a big win at the box office and even a 100 million opening wouldn't be surprising for it.
Prediction: 95 million
Meanwhile, I predict Star Cinema's
She's The One to gross 6-7 million (since almost all of its screens are lost to Thor)
Prediction: 6.5 million
